Our Team

Lindsay Angyus
Principal & CEO | KSA Design Group
As Principal and CEO of KSA Design Group, (formerly Kaufman Segal Angyus Design), Lindsay Angyus leads the firm with a refined aesthetic, strategic vision, and deep commitment to creating interiors that are as functional as they are beautiful. Known for her calm leadership and collaborative spirit, Lindsay guides projects of every scale with equal measures of artistry, precision, and empathy. Her work reflects a modern approach to classic design—spaces that feel timeless, comfortable, and uniquely personal.
Since becoming Principal and CEO in 2025, Lindsay has helped usher the firm into a new era, guiding its evolution from Kaufman Segal Design to Kaufman Segal Angyus Design to now, KSA Design Group. Alongside founders David Kaufman and Tom Segal, she continues to uphold the firm’s nearly three-decade legacy of thoughtful, enduring design while embracing innovation and fresh perspective.
Originally from just outside Indianapolis, Lindsay brings a grounded Midwestern sensibility to her work—balancing sophistication with authenticity. Before stepping into firm leadership, she built a diverse career shaped by both design and business experience. After managing a multi-line showroom at Chicago’s Merchandise Mart, she joined Scott Arthur Yerkey Design, where she earned First Place at the IL ASID Design Excellence Awards for her work on the Lake Forest Showcase House in 2013.
Her dedication to community-based design has also been recognized through her volunteer work with Designs for Dignity, where she received the organization’s Founder’s Award in 2014 for a collaborative project with Chicago House.
Lindsay holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design from the Harrington College of Design. She continues to draw inspiration from travel, architecture, art, and the ever-evolving intersections of culture and design—believing that the best spaces tell the stories of the people who live and work within them.

David Kaufman
Principal Designer
Grew up in Kansas City, and received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. He became an Illinois licensed interior designer in 1989. After working as Senior Designer/Project Manager with the late designer Paul Granata at his interior design firm in Chicago, Kaufman started his own firm in 1990. He and business partner Tom Segal started their eponymous firm specializing in residential design in 1995. Kaufman has volunteered at the Heartland Alliance Designs for Dignity, Hearts Foundation, Aids Cure, and Open Hand Chicago. He especially loves to create a look that’s eclectic and brings everything together, as opposed to a period-type interior with a single focus.

Tom Segal
Principal Designer
Grew up in a suburb of Minneapolis, Minnesota, received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree in finance from the University of Wisconsin in Madison, went on to earn a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Illinois in Chicago, where he studied under well-known architect Stanley Tigerman. His first job was as a residential architect at Frye, Gillan, Molinaro Architects in Chicago where he focused on interiors. He next worked for the late designer Paul Granata. He opened his own firm in 1995 and merged it with David Kaufman’s firm a year later, forming Kaufman Segal Angyus. He has served as past president of the Board of Trustees of Harrington College of Design in Chicago. He has also been a board member at Howard Brown Health Center, volunteered for Chicago House, Diffa Dining by Design, Open Hand Chicago and Aids Quilt Presentation. He loves clean contemporary furnishings with a few traditional accents or unexpected details.

What is your favorite part of being in design?
My favorite part of design is the collaboration with artists and craftspeople that we work with to develop our custom interiors. The final pieces are always a work of art.
What’s your personal design style?
My design style is a collected look with a mixture of contemporary pieces and traditional design elements that blend into a new style. This style has the feel of being traveled and collected over the course of a lifetime, rather than purchased all at once.
What would be your dream project?
A dream project would be the redesign of the White House’s private quarters for a future administration.

Peyton Cleverley
Design Assistant
Born and raised in Baltimore, MD, Peyton received her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Interior Design and a minor in French from Miami University (OH). While at Miami, Peyton was on the executive board of Miami’s collegiate chapter of IIDA, and spent a semester abroad at Miami’s campus in Luxembourg. She spent multiple summers interning at the esteemed design firm RD Jones in Baltimore, before moving to Chicago to begin her career with us. She joined the firm in January 2025, and she is thrilled to be a part of the design team at KSA.
What’s your personal design style?
I would consider my design style as eclectic. A blend of textures, muted tones, antique pieces, and contemporary elements that make a space feel layered and refined. I believe by including pieces and art from places I have traveled tells a story and ties a space together.
What elements define your style? Where do you find inspiration?
I find inspiration through traveling. I have always had a passion for learning about and experiencing other cultures. Combining my lived experiences with historical context fuels my creativity when designing spaces.
What would be your dream project?
My dream project would be designing a cliff side home in Big Sur, California. The contrast between the lush greenery and jagged cliff edges that disappear into the Pacific would create a unique design concept that I would love to see realized.
